"Covia is a major shipper of silica-based minerals and nearly all of our rail shipments occur in privately leased railcars. NAFCA membership has been essential in helping us stay up to date on rail industry changes impacting private fleets. Through NAFCA we had direct input into some of those changes - the implementation of OT-57 being an example. Further, NAFCA membership offers the opportunity to network with industry experts who understand everything from a railcar's mechanical properties to various regulations and virtully everything in between. Importantly, NAFCA is efficient with our time and resources, conducting the majority of it's business via bi-annual meetings - esentially two mornings a year.
